How many Google Business Profile listings can a car dealer have?

Car dealers are unique in that they can have multiple Google Business Profile (GBP) listings to cover different aspects of their business.

Car dealers can provide pound listings to their sales and parts departments

These lists are allowed if They meet the following conditions Departmental Rules. To qualify, they often require separate entrances, different categories, and sometimes different hours. So using this paradigm, the dealer can have a list of their parts department because they already have here. Sometimes Google will automatically create listings for parts and service departments, and in my experience GBP Support will not remove these listings unless you can prove they don’t exist. Car dealers can list every brand they have permission to sell on a Google Business profile

In 2020, this tweet received a lot of attention from the local SEO community because it suggested that car dealers could list every brand.

As of today, Help Center Documentation Updated to include:

“New car dealers are eligible for multiple listings. You can make a list for your dealer and make a list for each brand of new car you sell.

I wanted to clarify what exactly this means, so I discussed this with Google and will highlight some details below.

I’ll use an example to help illustrate this. this dealer Sold for Ford, Lincoln and Toyota. They will be allowed to make 3 lists for this purpose – one for each brand. It doesn’t matter if they have a separate entrance or are staffed. The main goal here may be to give brands more control over their listings at the corporate level. If Ford wanted to track and organize a list of all their dealers, they could do so. An example of a list is here.

The rule currently only applies to new car dealers. Used car dealership No personal data allowed Each car brand is sold as their brands may change frequently.

Car dealership local SEO on-site optimization tips

Have you ever wondered if adding photos to your car dealership website could have any value to your car dealership’s SEO or impact rankings? Well, yes. And in a very succinct way. We recently published an article titled Will adding photos to Google My Business improve my rankings? In this case study, We added photos of various tire brands that car dealers sold to the site and tracked rankings for tire-related keywords for a month.

We thought car dealers were a good test subject because they don’t mention “tires” anywhere on their website. We’ve added a few photos of the tires to the website page their pound listings link to.

After a few days, we saw that they had indeed started ranking for 3 different tire keywords that we were tracking. It’s not a huge improvement, but this grid local scout Showing their rankings for one of the “tires” keywords, which were previously all red (no ranking):

This is where it gets really interesting…

We’ve also noticed that search results now show Website reason Mentioning “tires”:

pound reasons

The only mention of these words on the website is Alternative text for photos We added. We repeated this test on another website and observed the same behavior. Based on this observation, we conclude that alt text has less impact on the ranking of local results.
