If you don’t live in a big city, it might be hard to find good parties, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t them in your area.

Here are my suggestions to help you find a new meetup near you.

Tip 1 – Use Google’s advanced search operators to discover new parties

Since new parties pop up all the time without notice, it’s worth doing a little digging to find out what’s out there.

You can do a regular Google search, but we are SEOs, so let’s use some Advanced search operators And add some spice.

In this example, I searched for the phrase “meetup” in the title, along with my location and my favorite SEO tool, and it successfully discovered Tim’s tweet from our London meetup.

Advanced Google Search Operator Example

This is just a very basic example, you can use any website or location, but it shows how you can discover information about a new party with a little research.

Tip 2 – Trigger Event SERP Features

by search Events or happenings near me, you can trigger event SERP functionality. In the example below, I found some SEO-related events by adding “SEO” to the search.

After triggering the feature, scroll down until you find an SEO meetup that catches your eye.

Tip 3 – Use Meetup to find SEO meetups

If you can’t find anything on Google, it’s best to do a quick check on professional social platforms.

Meetup is one of the most popular platforms. It allows you to find events on any topic near your location.

I have attended many small gatherings through this site over the years and they have always been fun and a place to make new connections.

Tip 4 – Are there no SEO meetups in your area? Start your own!

In 2018, I started my own little get-together on WhatsApp with some former colleagues, with the imaginative title #seodrinks.

#SEOdrinks party sign

It began humbly in a room in a small London pub, still In a room in a small pub somewhere in London. (If you would like an invite, please let me know on LinkedIn.)

We only have semi-regular meetups and a small group in London, but every meetup has to start somewhere.

If you want to start your own SEO meetup, platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram are the best free places to start, but if you want a more professional paid option, you can try Meetup or other similar platforms.

final thoughts

You don’t always have to attend big events SEO conference Meet other great people in the industry. Some of the smaller gatherings I’ve attended have resulted in more connections than larger conferences.

Therefore, SEO meetups are one of my favorite ways to meet people who are as interested in SEO and marketing as you are.
