Focus is the foundation of organizational and personal success. When you think of successful companies, they usually became great by focusing on one area—Google searching, Nvidia In the graphics processing unit, Amazon In the field of online retail, Nordstrom in service, and elsewhere. The challenge is that in a world with more things, it’s easier to lose focus. A FranklinCovey survey of 350,000 people around the world found that 40% of people spend their time on things completely unrelated to their goals and work. This amounts to wasting two of the five days of the work week, thus wiping out all productivity for 100 of the 250 days in a 50-week work year. Ouch. In this video, I’ll identify three causes of inability to focus and the tools and techniques to overcome them.
