I visited the Peterson Automotive Museum for the VIP reveal of the new CSX2900 hosted by Shelby Legendary Cars. The CSX2900 is limited to 10 units, priced at $650,000 each.
The Shelby Cobra CSX Tribute Series sports car is the ultimate tribute to Carroll Shelby. The aluminum body is built from original factory blueprints and follows every line of the first Shelby Cobra. The cockpit, interior, one-off bodywork and true leaf spring suspension along with the correct Salisbury rear end and inboard brakes are the same as those on the original Shelby Cobra.
The only car of its type approved for production, each hand-built sports car will feature a Shelby serial number and Shelby American MSO. The roadsters will be available as complete roller configurations for small-block Ford V8s with BorgWarner T10 transmissions, installed by customers or the shop of their choice. Owners of what Carroll Shelby called a limited-edition “roadster” could choose the color and whether to install an optional roll cage that Shelby American added after the car’s debut.
