Medium is a great platform to learn writing.
The community is incredibly supportive and you can make money from day one, which is no easy feat.
However, 100 stories later, I was spending less time on the platform.
Why?
Because to truly monetize your writing, you need traffic, and this is not the place to build a lot of traffic.
Paying directly is just the beginning
as James Julian He said in a recent article that to make significant revenue on Medium, you can’t rely solely on revenue sharing from direct partner programs.
This means you need some kind of product to lead your audience to:
- a course
- Paid Newsletter
- Tutoring system
- Serve
You get the gist.
It feels dirty, but if you want to make money, the affiliate program won’t work.
After +100 stories
I have now published 124 articles on Medium.
