Here’s how you can discover popular keywords in your niche before your competitors do:
Enter any topic Google Trends You’ll see how it trends.

You can also adjust the time frame to identify any emerging trends:

In my opinion the best part of Google Trends is Related queries part at the bottom. It shows topics that have seen a rise in interest during the time frame you select:

Watch for “breakout” terms, which represent an increase of more than 5,000% in search volume for that search term.
The disappointing thing about Google Trends is that it doesn’t show you many popular keywords.

So, if you want to see a large list of popular keywords, your best option is to use Ahrefs keyword browser.
Enter any topic and enter match term report and click grow Pillar.

You’ll see more than 1.6 million keywords, sorted by the largest increase in search volume over the past three months. You can also select a time range by clicking period drop-down menu.

best thing to use keyword browser is that you can see every important keyword metric, such as its search volume (in your chosen country or globally), its keyword difficulty (or its current ranking competitiveness), its traffic potential (you might How much search traffic you get if you rank #1), cost per click, etc.
You can even click on the SERP dropdown to see which pages are currently ranking for that keyword:

You can click Identify intent Understand what searchers are looking for when searching for this keyword:

So not only can you find popular keywords, but you can also get every information you need to rank high for that keyword.
Whatever is trending on the Internet, it will appear on the “Home Page of the Internet.” Simply put, Reddit is a one-stop shop for finding popular keywords.
Start by typing relevant keywords into the search bar and then look for relevant Reddit subreddits. For example, here are some of the subreddits for “Knife”:

Select the most relevant Reddit subreddits and sort by popular and your preferred time period.

Browsing through this subreddit, I found a discussion about “Modern Traditional Knives”:

With 270 upvotes and 86 comments, this might be a potential target topic if I were selling knives online. But I can double check if anyone is searching for that keyword by typing it into keyword browser:

There aren’t a lot of searches yet, but people are looking!
Many trends start on social media, so it goes without saying that if you are looking for trending keywords, this is where you should go.
foryou can click “Explore” and you’ll see the “Recommended for You” tab. This will show you trends in topics that currently interest you.

As you can see, X knows I’m interested in technology and therefore shows me the latest news and trends in technology. However, this depends on your personal algorithm, so depending on how you use X, it may or may not show you relevant trends.
So a better approach is to search for your topic and see what the top tweets are.

Instagram isn’t very intuitive and doesn’t show you what’s trending. Therefore, you have to manipulate the algorithm to show you popular content in your niche, or search and navigate to tags:

Click on a hashtag to see which posts or topics are trending.
For Douyinand if you have a business account, you’ll have access to their Creative Center, where they show you what’s trending right now:

Just like Reddit, once you’ve written down what’s trending in your niche, you’ll want to enter them into a keyword tool, e.g. keyword browser See if there is search volume.
