6 Digital Marketing Conferences We’ve Been to and Loved

No one can list all The best digital marketing conference because no one has attended it. But since our team has been there so many times, we thought we’d keep things simple and share what we love.

It’s all here, starting with the confirmed date of 2025.

Next activity: April 10-11, 2025
Place: Brighton, UK
price: £275 (+VAT)

BrightonSEO is a search marketing conference held twice a year (April and October) in the UK coastal resort of Brighton. This is probably the largest and most famous SEO conference, attended by thousands of marketers every year.

I’ve attended five or six now (at least) and even spoken a few times.

Here are the use cases I introduced for Ahrefs in 2024:

I explained on the main stage how most people think about SEO:

I said some very useful things, guaranteed!

It was a super lively conference with a great atmosphere, tons of freebies and tons of networking opportunities.

We are also a regular sponsor of the conference, so if you want to meet the team and buy one of the infamous Ahrefs ‘t-shirts’, this is a great place to visit. SEO books for beginnersand even our children’s books:

Side note.

If you can’t afford tickets but still want to attend, try attending a free ballot. These events are held regularly, and apparently about 20% of people who vote get a free ticket, so your chances are pretty good.

Inbound is a three-day digital marketing conference hosted by Hubspot “dedicated to the latest trends and strategies in marketing, sales, and artificial intelligence.” It was a huge conference with 11,000 attendees and over 200 speakers over three days.

Here’s a quick recap of the 2024 events:

My colleague Ryan (Law) attended a few years ago. You can see its size in one of his artistic photos:

The conference also tends to attract some pretty well-known speakers. Damish Shah (center point), Xiao Jiawei (single grain), Linda Tang (network streaming), Neil Patel, Shannon Duffy (Asana), even Ryan Reynolds (yes, this Ryan Reynolds has spoken out in the past.

Place: Amsterdam, Netherlands
price: €349 +

Digital Olympus is a conference designed to help attendees increase organic search traffic. It started as a small event in Wroclaw, Poland in 2019 with about 150 attendees, and I was lucky enough to not only attend the event, but also give a talk.

It was a great conference at the time, and judging from photos from the 2024 event, it looks like it has grown into an even bigger and better conference:

Given that tickets start at €349, it’s very reasonable and the 2025 event promises greats such as Kevin Indig, Aleyda Solis and Crystal Carter The speakers provided more insights and I would say it’s well worth attending if you care about getting more organic search traffic.

Next activity: To be determined (approximately November 2025)
Place: TBD (2024 for Singapore)
Price:~Estimated $650

Held at the stunning Pan Pacific Orchards (recently crowned The best new skyscrapers in the world), in 2024, the first Ahrefs Evolve conference was held in Singapore, welcoming more than 500 participants from more than 50 countries.

There are many big names in SEO and marketing on the list, including Cyrus Shepard (Zyppy SEO), Aleida Solis (Orlandi), Bernard Huang (clear telescope), Nick Ranger (DeYoung Marketing), and Jason Hennessey Hennessey Digital)…their slideshows have never looked better on our giant screens:

We also held pre-conference workshops with industry experts and Ahrefs experts.

The venue for Evolve 2025 has yet to be decided, but the United States and the United Kingdom are strong contenders. (Want an update? Subscribe here).

Next activity: 2025 (date to be determined)
Place: Nottingham, UK
price: Expect around £75

I live in Nottingham and was lucky enough to be invited to speak at this event in 2023:

My talk was about SEO (because that’s what I know best), but the event covered everything from SEO to PPC to content marketing and social media. It’s also surprisingly large, with over 600 attendees, four tracks and 20-minute clinics where you can get one-on-one advice from experts.

Maybe it’s because it’s up north(?), but this conference had a super relaxed and friendly vibe. There were some great food trucks on the one I attended (Nottingham’s food scene is underrated in my opinion) and the people from Haarlem were super friendly.

Even better, this is a non-profit event, with all proceeds going directly to local charity Rainbows Hospice. In 2024, the conference raised over £15,000.

Next activity: 2025 (TBD, but probably October)
Place: Las Vegas, United States
price: To be determined

Pubcon was founded in 2001 as an informal gathering of SEOs held in a London pub (that’s why it’s called PubCon). Today it is much larger compared to companies like BrightonSEO, but is still fairly low-key, with the last conference held in October 2024 having 300-400 attendees.

There have been for many years hundreds of speakers including our own Patrick Stokes. Last year’s event was dominated by presentations on artificial intelligence, covering the following topics:

  • Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Content Creation
  • Optimize AI-powered search
  • Understand the role of artificial intelligence in rankings

Las Vegas appears to be the most popular conference location, with more than a dozen meetings held there. That said, there are also PubCons held in Florida, Boston, Austin and even London.
