Google has introduced a new feature for Google’s business profiles to make it easier to collect customer reviews.
Now you can generate a custom QR code that, when scanned, brings customers directly to your business comment page.

Now you can create easy-to-use QR codes that bring customers directly to your GBP and encourage them to leave more comments.
On the desktop, go to your business profile and click Request Comment. Follow the instructions to generate a link or QR code. Look! pic.twitter.com/gx0hnlmap6

How to access features
You can access the QR code generator by following the steps below:
- Access your Google Business Profile Dashboard on your desktop
- Click the “Request Comment” option
- Follow the on-screen instructions to generate a direct link or QR code
The system offers multiple sharing options, including email, WhatsApp and Facebook.
What does this mean for the business
This update gives you more ways to increase review volume with minimal friction. QR codes can be displayed in physical locations, added to receipts, or included in post-purchase communications.
Reviewing quantity and quality can enhance local search visibility. While comments don’t affect search rankings, they affect Google’s local packages.

Customers prefer to write reviews
Regarding the topic of local search, I introduced a related study earlier this week and found that customers are increasingly willing to write reviews.
Brightlocal analyzed 15 years of data and determined that customers are increasingly aware of the importance of reviews. This awareness makes them more eager to contribute their thoughts and opinions.
The study reads:
“… Despite the challenges of keeping consistent new reviews, consumers are willing to write an article. This is to give them a strong reason (aka memorable experience) and grab them at the right time.”

Research points out that higher customer awareness is a double-edged sword.
Although people prefer to write reviews, they trust less in the overall review score. This means that customers should consult “alternative” resources like Tiktok and YouTube in addition to checking Google reviews.
When you leverage this QR code feature to collect more comments, remember that it is important to be visible on multiple platforms to attract today’s customers.
