Audacy, Inc. Administrative changes were announced, including the appointment of Kelli Turner as President and CEO (“CEO”), Chris Olivero as Chief Business Officer and Bob Phillips as Chief Revenue Officer.
Turner is an excellent media leader who has served as interim president and CEO since former president and CEO David Field resigned in January. Oliviero and Philips are highly regarded industry leaders with over half a century of experience to deliver their audiences and their predecessors together. Olivero was recently the marketing president for Audacy in New York, while Philips was the president of listener network and multi-market sales.
“We are delighted that Kelli Turner has agreed to take on the role of permanent president and CEO in its next phase of reshaping and growth, and is responsible for hearing,” said Audacy Chairman Michael Del Nin. “She is an outstanding media director who, along with Chris Olivero and other listeners teams, will ensure that we continue to invest in high-quality content to engage our audience and provide first-class solutions to our partners.”
Turner has served on the Audience Committee since September 2024. Turner has also served on the boards of several advertising and music technology companies, including Doubleverify, Downtown Music Holdings, and Chief Financial Officer of Sun Capital Partners, a leading private investment firm.
Prior to joining Sun Capital Partners, she served as President and Chief Operating Officer of SESAC Holdings, a major music licensing and rights management company owned by Blackstone. She has also served in a variety of executive and leadership roles in the investment and media industry, including RSL Group, Martha Stewart Living, Time Warner, Allen & Company and Citigroup.
“It’s an honor to lead the audience at an exciting time of impressive history and audio evolution,” Turner said. “This is one of the most dynamic businesses in media and entertainment, and I look forward to working with Chris Olivero and all of our teams to build momentum with audiences, creators and advertisers. Chris and Bob Bob’s appointment was particularly excited that their appointments were inherent and well-known, as well as track record in management, planning and sales, which were second.
Olivero has been president of marketing in New York since 2020 and has worked for CBS Radio for over 23 years (as part of the 2017 hearing). He began his career as a production assistant at Howard Stern Show and gradually took on more advanced programming roles.
Philips joined CBS Radio in 1996 and later served as the chief revenue office of CBS Radio and Entercom. After Entercom renamed Audacy in 2021, Philips transformed into his most recent role as President of Audience Networks and multi-market sales.
The company also announced the departure of Chief Operating Officer Susan Larkin, Chief Digital Officer JD Crowley, Chief Marketing Officer Paul Suchman and Executive Vice President and General Counsel Andrew Sutor. Mike Dash has been appointed executive vice president and general counsel, who will continue the transition period. Dash has worked at Audacy’s company for nearly two decades.
