On the edge of advertising apps and search engine optimization, some content teams are generating thousands of mediocre articles in search of rankings.
This brute force approach is solving the challenges of modern organic search.
Optimizing a prominent page is never easy. But for many news publishers, 2025 is the perfect storm for zero-click search and migration to a generated AI platform. Search traffic in some media has dropped by more than 50%.

- “Forget SEO, the hot new thing is ‘aeo'” – Business Insider, May 12, 2025.
- “News websites are shattered by Google’s new AI tools” – Wall Street Journal, June 10, 2025.

These and other SEO challenges foster uncertainty with traditional publishers and content marketers. Which content topics cause site traffic?
The unlikely answer to this question for some at least is to create more low-quality AI-generated content.
arbitrage
Arbitrage is the practice of making profits in different prices of the same or similar assets in different markets.
Google Advertising “”Related searches for content” (RSOC) is a form of advertising that displays search terms on web pages. Some arbitrageurs use RSOC to make money.
Arbitrage starts with a content website and then work like this:
- The website owner lists several related keywords on the AI-generated article page.
- Keywords link to search results on the same website.
- The top of these website search results are Google RSOC ads with high value keywords.
- When a visitor clicks on an ad, the business will earn a share of advertising revenue.
Advertising arbitrage with ROSC starts with a lightweight article page to encourage clicking on “Related Searches”.
Next, the business purchased relatively low-value keyword ads on Google Search to attract traffic to its AI article pages, encouraging users to click on relevant search options to make money between advertising costs and advertising revenue.
Arbitrageurs use artificial intelligence to generate thousands of intermediate articles that can drive traffic to arrive. Strangely, these pages sometimes rank in the top 100.
