Communication group-Owned CRKD recently launched a backpack, $99.99 Vortex 1.0. On a recent holiday I switched it to my top pick for the past eight years or so Peak design daily backpackCRKD completely ruined the appearance. However, the vortex has a handheld gaming pocket, which helps it stand out, especially at this price.
I usually like to use a Peak Design backpack, except to bring it to the holidays, which means I have to hold my handheld in my home. Once stuffed into the side pocket, it isn’t enough to accommodate the original switch. On the other hand, the Vortex 1.0, with two dedicated handheld sleeves, let me bring my switch 2 and Steam deck at the same time. It’s also wider and taller, which means its top zipper cabin can accommodate 16-inch laptops and tablets.
Despite similar to the peak designs of the day, there are few details that vortex should (but not) try to copy, such as having multiple handles that allow you to carry it vertically or horizontally, or having a shelf equipped with Velcro that allows you to adjust the height and width of each compartment.
Eddy current 1.0 is one-third of the cost 30 liters of backpack per dayIt’s a great value for gamers who don’t want to turn the packaging into a game Tetris. However, its material and strap filler doesn’t feel durable or breathable compared to my peak design bag, and its peak design bag still looks the same new condition after nearly a decade. In other words, Vortex can’t compete with the backpack trying to clone the toes in some of the most important ways.
